Description
What Is A Thermostatic Mixing Valve?
Thermostatic Mixing Valve is a professional-grade solution designed specifically for use in electric water heaters or solar water heaters systems. This valve is engineered to ensure precise control over outlet water temperature by effectively limiting and mixing the amount of hot and cold water entering the system.
Important Thing You Need to Know
The maximum hot water temperature at the tap should be 45°C or less for childcare centers, schools, homes for the elderly and similar facilities, and 55°C for other buildings.
How Does A Thermostatic Mixing Valve work?

When a temperature is set, if the outlet temperature falls below the desired value, the sensor component will contract in response to the cold conditions. This causes the valve core to move upwards, reducing the opening for cold water and increasing the opening for hot water. As a result, the proportion of hot water increases while the proportion of cold water decreases, leading to a rise in temperature after mixing until it reaches the desired value.
Conversely, if the outlet temperature exceeds the set value, the sensor component will expand and push the valve core downwards. This action increases the opening for cold water and reduces the opening for hot water, thereby adjusting the proportions of cold and hot water accordingly. Consequently, the temperature after mixing decreases until it reaches the desired value.. It works again and again in this way.

How To Install A Thermostatic Mixing Valve?
- A. All installations should be carried out by a professional plumber.
- B. Prior to installation, ensure the cleanliness of the pipes by flushing out any impurities to ensure the proper functioning of the system..
- C. Follow the indications on the valve body to correctly install the pipes. For instance, connect the hot water pipe to the inlet side marked H, and the cold water pipe to the inlet side marked C. The remaining side should be connected to the outlet pipe.
- D. Adjust the desired outlet temperature by rotating the hand wheel. The temperature settings range from 1 (lowest temperature of 30℃) to 7 (highest temperature of 55℃). You can modify the temperature at various levels.
- E. In case of unequal inlet pressures, the external check valves will activate to prevent the mixing of hot and cold water.
- Attention: If the ratio between two inlets is too big, one flow-limiting valve should be fixed at the side of higher pressure.
